“We are in a season of Seed, not Harvest”

Someone I met today…

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, author of 72 books including, “24 Hour Miracle” and “Be the Best” cuts to chase when it comes to where our nation is today.  He told me that we should not dispair if we have lost in this economy. He preached a bit… that if you plant the seeds of a purposeful man or woman during this winter season of our history… then, the warmer times will yield an abundant harvest of prosperity in your life.

Kinda hard to imagine for some who would seem to have lost it all– home, job, successful marriage… peace.

Pastor Matthew told me our nation is in a season of putting the Seed into the ground and the ground must be cut up, plowed, hurt in order for that Seed to catch hold.

HERE’S WHERE I’VE TAKEN HIS METAPHOR…  based on the times when darkness visited my life:

Once the Seed is planted, the rain must come in droves…  in order to nurish the Seed.  And, then we must wait… wait… wait.   We must wait beyond our comfort zone.  We must wait with dignity, integrity and love in our hearts.  We must be the best we can be while we wait.  And, we must not ask why over and over… or how much longer it will be.

Wait.

And, then when the Lord is ready… the sun will move across the sky… our Seed now peeking above ground soaking up the glow and new nutrients.

Wait.

Harvest, can you hear us?  We await you.

Love here is a definition of Love. My Dad told me love is sacrifice. And what would I be willing to sacrifice for Love?
God sacrificed His only son that who so ever believes in Him will not die but have life ever everlasting. John 3:16
This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. John 15:12-14.
What was the command? Love one another.
I believe that when John the Baptist seeing Jesus coming unto him, and said,
“Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world”. John 1:29.
When Jesus died on the cross he said, “it is finished”, John 19:30
He took away the sin of the world. There is no more sin save one.
“Whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come”. Matthew 12:32
Speaking against the Holy Spirit is denying God sent His only son to suffer and die on a cross for all mankind. Rejecting Jesus as Savior is the unforgivable sin. Sins are rebellion against God and doing the things we should not do, but we do, do as the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
We are no longer under the law but under Grace.
“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work”. Romans 11:6.
This of course does not give us free reign to go out and do whatever we want, because when we are living for God we do not want to bring dishonor to God. However when we slip and fall to sin we have an advocate and seek forgiveness.
“My little children, these things I write unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments”. 1 John 2:1-3
I believe that every person born to this earth has their name written in the Lambs book of life.
“Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” Acts 3:19
It is only when a person who does not come to repentance and does not accept Jesus as Lord and is not converted that their name is blotted out of the book. I say this because I refuse to believe our all Loving Father casts out all the unborn babies that have been aborted and never had the chance to convert and believe. Our God is a giver of life not a taker of life.

    Harris,

I so enjoy watching you on the strategy room. Today’s show was very helpful. “Darkness” is currently visiting my life and reading your take on the pastor’s metaphor has opened my heart/mind to see and look at these difficult times in a different way.

    Thank you!

    Ana,
    This too shall pass.
I used to despise hearing those words. Now, life and time have shown me the clarity and the wisdom of those words. Sometimes I catch myself saying them softly in the midst of tough times or difficult people.
“Harris, this too shall pass.” It helps me to remember how short life is and that the only thing that is certain is that change is coming! That a harvest will be revealed.
Ana, this too shall pass. You are not alone in this time of trial. And, remember, God’s timing is not always ours. So, we don’t know when your harvest will be revealed… but, God keeps His word. Keep your faith.

  5. Ana says:

    Harris,

Thank you for your refreshing words. Indeed, this too shall pass. You are right, I am not alone… I have God, Who never fails. Although I have faith, this difficulty made me forget to stop worrying–life is too short and yes, change is coming–and my harvest will be revealed.

    Harris,

My husband and I were just discussing this very same topic the other day. He is a pastor who works with jail inmates. We are awaiting the time of nourishment when the seed will be fruit.

Thanks for your words of encouragement.
